Reproductions

A researcher who needs a copy of a record asks for a reproduction: a photocopy, a scan, a photograph, a digital copy, a transcription, or a certified copy for a court or an office.

Asking

  1. Open Research, Reproductions (/research/reproductions), and start a request.
  2. Add the records, each with the kind of copy, how many, and any detail, such as the pages or the resolution.
  3. Say what the copies are for, which can affect what may be supplied and at what fee.
  4. Submit.

A request moves from draft to submitted, then processing, awaiting payment where there is a fee, in production, and completed, or it may be cancelled. Each item has its own status, so part of a request can be ready before the rest.

Receiving the copies

Digital copies are delivered by a download link, sent by e-mail and shown on the request, that works for a time. Physical copies are collected or posted, as arranged.

The shop

Where the institution sells reproductions, a published record's page offers Add to cart. The cart (/cart) lists what you chose, with prices from the institution's price list; checkout pays for it by PayFast. My orders (/shop/my-orders) lists your orders, each pending, paid, processing, completed, cancelled or refunded, with its downloads once it is ready.

For the staff

Reproductions lists every request with its status. Open one to price it, ask for payment, upload the copies, and complete it. Orders (/shop/orders) lists the shop's orders, and Shop settings (/shop/settings) sets the products, the prices and the PayFast account.
