Saved searches

A search you run often, or want to be told about when the catalogue changes, can be kept under a name. Saved searches are your own: nobody else sees them.

Find them under Research, Saved searches (/research/searches).

Saving one

Run a search, then choose Save this search and give it a name. Its words and its filters are kept, and a snapshot of its results is taken as a baseline.

Running it again

Open a saved search and run it to see its results now. Snapshot takes the results as the new baseline; the comparison then shows what came and what went since the last snapshot, so a researcher following a subject sees just what is new.

Alerts

Switch on alerts and choose how often, daily, weekly or monthly. Each morning the searches whose turn has come are run for you, and if anything new has appeared you are sent an e-mail listing it. A search runs with your own access, so it never tells you of anything you may not read.
